Press Release No. 4/2006

DWV at the f-cell 2006 fuel cell convention in Stuttgart

The fuel cell convention f-cell with accompanying fair will be held for the 6th time on 25 and 26 September in Stuttgart. 600 experts and deciders in the field from Germany, Europe, North America, and Asia are expected to be present. About two thirds of them will be from the commercial sector which underlines the practical orientation of the meeting.

DWV supports the event in numerous ways; the association will have a booth in the fair and is associated with a considerable part of the speakers and exhibitors. Of particular importance are education and public relations. DWV and its members have enhanced their commitment in this field recently. The DWV member Fuel Cell Education and Training Center Ulm (WBZU) will arrange one seminar for teachers of all kinds and another for firemen during the f-cell.

In 53 presentations speakers from eight countries will tell where we are, consider technology, markets, and applications in the portable, mobile, and stationary sector, learn latest news from science, and hear about the further development of infrastructure and the efforts of suppliers. The audience will have a chance to discuss the problems not only in the question round after the presentations but also in direct contact with the speakers: there will be a „Meet the Speakers“ corner.

The minister for environment of the state of Baden-Wuerttemberg, representatives of the federal ministry for economy (BMWi), of the European Union, the California Fuel Cell Partnership and Interlink Corp. from Japan will present the state of the art. They will also take part in a round table discussion. The EU representative is expected to tell how the EU will align the European industry for competition with North America and Asia by means of the Joint Technology Initiative (JTI). Another point of interest will be the speech of the BMWi representative about the national innovation program on hydrogen and fuel cells which was launched together with the ministry for transport; public and complementary industry funds together will make up a total of 1.5 billion EUR for the period from 2006 to 2015.

More than 38 parties from industry and science will be exhibitors on the accompanying fair. Fair visitors will have a chance to observe the market and recent innovations, to enhance synergies, to exchange information and to create new business contacts.

For the 6. time the f-cell Award will be presented which is a creation of the energy utility EnBW, the state ministry for environment of Baden-Wuerttemberg, and the business promotion association for the Stuttgart region.
